Global Warming:
The Breaking news popped up on the screen of my television while I was attempting to watch "Are You Afraid Of The Dark"? I had no idea what was going on. A very scared looking woman started screaming "Extreme UV Rays Are On Their Way And We're All Going To Die In 35 Minutes" I checked to see if this was a part of the show but unfortunatly it was real. The room was starting to get extremely warm and I was starting to sweat wildly. This was creeping me out big time! It was almost like a nightmare... I felt someone shake me... It was my mom and it must have been a dream because I could now feel the cool breeze of my fan.
Honorable judges, fellow contestants, ladies and gentlemen. You do not know how relieved I was to find out that all of this was just a dream, but could this dream actually become a reality someday? I believe so, if we don't change our ways here on Earth Global Warming could slowly toast us all to a fried crisp!
Everyday we do things that contribute to Global Warming. Whenever we leave uneeded light or other electronic appliences, drive our cars or just simply use a drive through at McDonalds, we've played a part. Mills and factories also play a huge part in Global Warming, by burning fossil fuels. Burning fossil fuels creates gases like carbon dioxide which traps the sun's heat in the Earth's atmosphere. These gases cause our Earth to heat up.
Our Earth is going through some major changes, it's biggest concern is the climate, because of it we now hve more flooding, more frequent and severe hurricanes. The Ice Cap is melting and getting smaller and smaller. In the past hundreds of people have been killed or forced from their homes because of flooding and hurricanes. In the future this is sure to happen at an increasing rate.
Is it too late to reverse the affects of Global Warming? Recycling is one way of helping the Eart that I find the easiest to do, by recycling the amout of waste that goes into the landfills is decreased. Carpooling is good for our Earth too because the less cars that we use, the less fuel we have to use. If we plant more trees the amout of carbon dioxide will decrease some which will decrease some which will help the climate.
Although our Earth may be in bad condition today, you now know that we can all make a difference. We should never take this planet Earth for granted. It's only ours to borrow, so lets save some for tomorrow.
